Biography
Katherine J. Maas has over 30 years
experience as a leader. Her career has encompassed
journalism, teaching at the secondary and
post secondary levels, small business startups,
technical writing, software development, customer
service, career counseling, and human resource
development. Throughout, her focus has been
on improving effectiveness through enhancing
human systems, communication, and relationships.
In the past 10 years she has specialized in
the area of personal and interpersonal leadership
development, with emphasis on helping leaders
improve self awareness, self management, empathy,
motivation, and social skills.

A
continuous learner, Katherine holds a B.A from
the University of Minnesota and an M.A. from Carleton
University. She has completed extensive human relations
training, including a Certificate in Experience-Based
Learning and several practicums at NTL Institute.
Katherine reads voraciously and excels at
cross-disciplinary thinking. She is a Certified
Professional Co-Active Coach. She is also certified
to use a number of instruments, including Bar-On’s
emotional intelligence indicator (EQ-i) and the
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®. She is certified to
